Welcome to the Physical Education Department at Rushcliffe School

The Physical Education programme at Rushcliffe School endeavours to give pupils the opportunity to experience and enjoy a wide range of sporting activities whilst achieving the requirements of the National curriculum at both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The programme educated pupils about how to maintain fitness and the advantages of a healthy lifestyle, as well as providing the opportunity to further study in GCSE, AS Level and A Level.

Assessment Criteria

Assessment will take place on a formative and summative basis in each unit of work. Students should be given feedback during the lesson as to how they are progressing and be given the opportunities to assess their own, and others work, as part of the planning, performing and evaluating process.

At the end of each unit of work students are assessed according to National Curriculum levels and the marks recorded on the pupil P.E. profiles. Students should be made aware of the level that they are working at and be given strategies to improve,

Reporting to parents takes place on a yearly basis. Written reports should record achievements made throughout the year and set targets for improvement.
