Welcome to Rushcliffe History Department! |
| |
Our aim is to ensure that all pupils experience the fun and challenge of History. By teaching pupils to find their own answers to some of the most intriguing questions about the past, they will gain a greater understanding of the world around them. |
| |
In History pupils develop many important skills including the ability to ask questions of many different types of information and to select evidence to construct a strong argument. These skills are valued throughout the school and in life beyond the classroom, helping Rushcliffe pupils to become informed and active citizens. |
| |
History is a very popular subject at Rushcliffe, many pupils choose to study it at both GCSE and AS/A2 level. We are proud of our pupils' examination success, which reflect the hard work and committment of pupils and teachers. |

Meet the staff |

Mr Boothroyd is the Head of History and an enthusiast of Russian History. Our leader, the baby of the department has developed the courses History offers. We are concerned though about his resemblance to a victorian criminal! |
Ms Jenkins is responsible for developing many of the courses taught at Rushcliffe including the Romans, the Middle Ages, the Black Peoples of the Americas and the Year 12 Russian History Course. Ms Jenkins also practices aromatherapy with her cats. |

Mr Rick has over 20 years of teaching experience and is also a Head of Year at Rushcliffe. Mr Rick is a specialist in Tudor history and his personal experience of sweet rationing during the war is an invaluable resource! |
