Clubs and activities

GCSE catch up sessions operating every lunch time throughout the course. After school sessions start in October after the half term break for the rest of the course until the hand-in date.

A lunch timeclub will be starting from September. This will be run by Mr Scarborough. Pupils could work on individual or team related projects

Developments

The faculty is developing the use of CAD & CAM (computer aided manufacture) at all keystages. The new ICT suite is providing an opportunity at GCSE & above to produce project work of outstanding quality. The use of both the A3 printer and colour laser jet printer has allowed pupils to produce outcomes on par with shop based quality. The plotter/cutter has also contributed to the resistant materials pupils raising the levels of the practical outcomes.

The next stage is the investment of a laser cutter. This will enable all technology pupils to gain abetter understanding of how products are designed and produced in industry.
