The Aims of Technology |
| |
We aim to encourage all pupils to develop their abilities and interests to the full, and cultivate self-discipline together with a responsible attitude. This subject promotes the equality of opportunities, irrespective of race, sex, culture, creed or disability. Specifically, the Technology Faculty will give every pupil the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills and understanding through a variety of focussed tasks and design and make activities in a number of different subject areas. |

We aim: |

- To provide broad, balanced and relevant technology courses for all pupils regardless of gender or ability in line with national curriculum requirements.
- To stimulate and sustain curiosity, interest and enjoyment in technological activities and its application.
- To develop the skills of critical analysis, appraisal and problem solving. That will enable pupils to carry out design activities.
- To stimulate interest and care for the environment.
- To develop and awareness and understanding of social, economic, ethnic and environmental implications of technological discoveries and activities.
- To enable pupils to understand a broad range of technological concepts, principles and theories.
- To promote an awareness that the study and practice of technology are co-operative activities and to provide opportunities for pupils to develop their ability to work together.
- To promote an awareness, understanding and expertise in areas of creative thinking which can be expressed and developed through investigation , planning, designing, making and evaluation and working with materials and tools.
