This is about understanding the important part that leisure and tourism play’s in today’s society. You will look at a variety of providers and destinations around the country to gain an insight into this multi-billion pound industry. |

| This is about discovering how leisure and tourism organisations work towards getting the right product to the right people in the right place at the right price using the right promotion. It covers topics such as target marketing, market research and promotional activities. |

| Unit 3 – Customer Services in Leisure and Tourism |
| |
This is about how leisure and tourism organisations work towards giving their customers the best possible service at all times. It covers areas on meeting the needs of different customers, communicating with customers, the importance of keeping customer records and the importance of personal presentation. Much of this builds on the work completed in Unit 1 and 2. |

Portfolio work will demonstrate a student’s knowledge and understanding of marketing and customer service for a leisure and tourism organisation. This will monitored and marked internally and then moderated by the examination board. |

| To aid and support students learning in leisure and tourism the school has purchased an interactive software package. This offers a range of activities, check-lists and tests that enhance the learning experience. This valuable tool can also be used by students at home, as they will be given a username and password to log on outside of school. This is particularly useful for knowledge reinforcement and revision purposes. |
